WhatsApp users will now be able to pin their favourite chats on top

WhatsApp has been rolling out a few new features in its beta version of the app. Recently new ‘Album‘ and ‘Text Status‘ features were spotted on WhatsApp beta along with improvements in ‘Live location’. Now, there’s another new feature added that lets users pin their favourite chats on top.

This new feature was first spotted by Android Police and is available in WhatsApp beta versions 2.17.162 or 2.17.16. The feature can be accessed in the similar way as the Archive chat or mute feature. Just tap on a particular chat and select the pin option from the top bar, after which the chat will be moved to the top and remains there irrespective of time of messages or conversation. A user will be able to pin a maximum number of three chats on top. This feature is added in the options list which earlier included Archive, Delete and Mute hence, there’s nothing new to master or understand as it will simply appear as the fourth option in the list.

There is also a provision to unpin the chats. The users just need to long press the option and pin will be disable automatically. As earlier mentioned, the feature is still in WhatsApp beta for testing and there’s no news of when it will start rolling out in the regular applications. However, we can expect it to happen soon enough as it doesn’t take much long for any feature to be included in the regular app once it gets into the beta version.
