Gionee S8 and Gionee W909 officially launched in China

Gionee has officially launched its flagship smartphone Gionee S8, and the clamshell phone W909 in China, today. The Gionee S8 is priced at 2,599 Yuan (approx Rs. 26,600), while the Gionee W909 costs at 3,999 Yuan (approx Rs. 41,000).

Gionee S8:

The Gionee S8 was first showcased at MWC 2016, that was held last month in Barcelona, Spain. The Gionee S8 flaunts a 5.5 inch of Full HD (1920 X 1080 pixels) AMOLED display with a pixel density of 401 ppi, 2.5D arc glass and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. It also supports 3D Touch with Quick Actions menu. It is powered by 1.95 GHz MediaTek Helio P10 (MT6755) octa-core processor, coupled with Mali T860MP2 GPU and 4 GB RAM. The smartphone runs on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Amigo OS 3.2 on top.

Gionee S8 bears 64 GB internal memory, that is expandable up to 128 GB with micro SD. It sports a 16 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/1.8 aperture, PDAF, and Laser auto focus. It also boasts an 8 megapixel selfie camera on the front. It houses a fingerprint sensor integrated into the home button.

The Gionee S8 is a dual Sim smartphone that offers connectivity options like 4G LTE/3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac/a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS. It measures 154.3×74.9x7mm and weighs 148 grams. It will be available in Rose Gold, Silver, and Gold color variants.

Gionee W909:

The Gionee W909 is the first clamshell phone to feature a fingerprint sensor. It comes with a dual 4.2-inch IPS displays with HD (1280 x 720 pixels) resolution. It is powered by Helio P10 octa-core processor, paired with 4 GB of RAM. It offers 64 GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD card slot upto 128 GB. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop.

The Gionee W909 boasts a 16 megapixel rear camera with PDAF and dual tone LED flash, and a 5 megapixel front-facing camera. It is backed by a 2,530mAh battery that is rated to deliver 30 hours of talk time and lasts upto 408 hours on standby.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and USB Type-C port. It measures 124.1 x 62.8 x 16.5 mm and weighs 207.7 grams. The Gionee W909 will be available in Gold color only.
