Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A specifications and retail box image leaked, could hit the shelves soon

While the upcoming Redmi Note 5 from Xiaomi was creating buzz lately, a recent leak now suggests that the company might just have a slightly different plan. Xiaomi is apparently working on a new smartphone under its upcoming ‘5’ series which could arrive before the alleged Redmi Note 5. The new smartphone dubbed ‘Redmi Note 5A’ has been surfaced online with its key specifications and an image of the retail boxes.

The Redmi Note 5A is said to be the trimmed down version of Redmi Note 5 and could be the first one to arrive in the ‘5’ series of Redmi. The recent leaks also indicates that the launch of smartphone is just round the corner. The specifications of the smartphone popped up through a twitter user Meng Meng’s audio-visual, according to which, the Redmi Note 5A will sport a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) display. The smartphone is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 625 SoC coupled with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB internal storage where its expandability is still unknown.

In the optics department, the smartphone is speculated to hold a dual camera setup at the rear with a 12 MP OV12A10 sensor and a 13 MP OV12880 sensor. At the front, the smartphone will hold a 5 MP Samsung S5K5E8 sensor for selfies.

Talking about the image of the retail box, it has been leaked by ITHomes. There is nothing much that the retail boxes reveal except the fact that the Redmi 5A could launch soon. The retail box has a very simple cover with a Mi logo on top and an emphasized name of smartphone on the bottom.

Prior to this, the complete specifications of upcoming Redmi Note 5 surfaced online. The smartphone is expected to sport a 5.5-inch Full-HD (1080 x 1920 pixel) display and might be powered by either Snapdragon 630 or Snapdragon 660 SoC, depending upon the region. The smartphone is expected to come with 2GB /3GB/ 4GB RAM along with 32 GB/ 64 GB internal storage respectively. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is said to be running on Android 7.2 Nougat with latest MIUI 9 on top.

In the imaging department, the smartphone is speculated to hold a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and an LED flash. On the front side, the smartphone will pack a 13 MP camera for selfies. The device will pack a 3,790 mAh battery and will also come with improved connectivity options including the X12 LTE modem, Bluetooth v5.0, and USB Type-C 3.1.
