Samsung launches Galaxy Note 7 in India at Rs. 59,990, goes on sale from September 2nd

As promised, Samsung has finally launched its flagship phone, Galaxy Note 7 at an event in New Delhi, India. The smartphone which was first showcased at the Galaxy Unpacked 2016 event in New York last week is priced at Rs. 59,900 and will be available starting from September 2nd.

To remind, the Galaxy Note 7 flaunts a 5.7-inch Quad HD (2560×1440 pixels) Super AMOLED curved dual edge display with pixel density at 518 ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. However, it lets you change the resolution of the device and you can toggle between HD, FHD or QHD. It is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Exynos 8890 processor, clocked at 2.3 GHz, clubbed with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM. As for the 6GB RAM variant, it is said that Samsung will launch it in China, with the Snapdragon 820 SoC. It offers a 64GB (UFS 2.0) internal memory, which is further expandable up to 256GB via microSD. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

The Note 7 sports a ‘Dual Pixel’ 12-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash, a f/1.7 aperture, and OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation). It also boasts a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/1.7 aperture. It is packed with a 3500mAh battery with fast charging support on wired as well as wireless. Connectivity options on the smartphone include 4G LTE Cat.12, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2X2 MIMO), Bluetooth 4.2 LE, NFC, and USB Type-C.

Galaxy Note 7The Galaxy Note 7 features a new S pen with 0.7mm smaller tip than its predecessor and improved pressure sensitivity. Its Smart Select lets you easily create and share GIF animations and new Air Command functions for magnifying and translate. It also has new Secure Folder feature, which stores files as well as apps in a secure location. The company has also added iris scanner along with the fingerprint sensor for additional security. The smartphone is dust and water-resistant with IP68 certification.

Galaxy Note 7The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 measures 153.5 x 73.9 x 7.9mm and weighs 169 grams. It will be offered in Blue Coral, Gold Platinum, Silver Titanium and Black Onyx color variants. The company has also partnered with Reliance Jio for 90 days of Free voice and data. Also, users who pre-book the device from August 22nd till 30th can get the new Gear VR (read more about it here) for Rs. 1,990, while its original price is 7,290.
