Samsung’s next flagship Galaxy Note 8 is apparently in the making and perpetual leaks about the smartphone from a while are creating even more excitement. Prior to this, it was reported that the Galaxy Note 8 could be launched somewhere around the second half of September. However a new report now suggests that the smartphone will be unveiled on 23rd August in an event in New York. Interestingly, this again falls in line with another report which claimed that the smartphone will be launching on 26th August in New York.
According to a report on South Korea-based publication The Invester, Samsung will most probably unveil its upcoming flagship Galaxy Note 8 at an event in New York on 23rd August. The report citing a Samsung executive states that, “the bigger-screen phone will be unveiled later next month in New York,” however the executive declined to confirm the August 23 date.
The report further mentions that, the smartphone is also expected to hit the shelves globally in September. At the very beginning, Samsung was rumoured to launch the Galaxy Note 8 at IFA 2017 in Berlin, an annual tradeshow which takes place in September, but the company then seemed to have changed its plans to avoid a possible clash with the launch of Apple’s iPhone 7s, 7s Plus and iPhone 8.
Coming down to the previously leaked specifications, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 as mentioned in the recent report as well, is said to sport a 6.3-inch display, most probably with QHD resolution. The device could be powered by a Snapdragon 835 or an Exynos SoC along with 6 GB RAM and 256 GB internal storage. The previous leaks also suggest that the dual camera setup will consist of a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens supporting dual photodiode and a 13-megapixel telephoto lens. The report also states that it will support 3X optical zoom, dual 6P lenses and dual OIS as well.
