OnePlus X series is dead, now focus on “true flagship” line only: CEO
Following the launch of OnePlus 3, the company made the announcement that it has decided to discontinue the OnePlus X series, and will now focus only on “true flagship” line.
The OnePlus CEO, Pete Lau while talking to Engadget has confirmed that the OnePlus X series will no longer be continued, instead of which company will just focus on one “true flagship” line from now on, in order to strengthen its foundation. The company will invest more into after-sales services and into lifestyle products such as the series of bags that were launched at the show to promote the brand. However, Lau said OnePlus will not adopt the conventional advertising channels, so it can reduce the cost of the product.
“We still gotta make money at the end of the day; it’s just a matter of how you do it and how much you want to make,”
