OnePlus partners with Foxconn & announces its plan to ‘Make in India’
OnePlus has taken its ‘next big step’, and very soon it will join the league with other smartphone companies that are going to manufacture phones in India. In an ongoing event at Bangalore, OnePlus has announced that it has partnered with Foxconn to manufacture the smartphones for the domestic market.
The first batch of the ‘Made in India’ OnePlus smartphones will be available by the end of 2015.
“Producing smartphones in India is one of the most important decisions. This move will strengthen our presence and help us step up momentum in India.” said Pete Lau, CEO, OnePlus.
The OnePlus smartphones will be manufactured at Foxconn’s Sri City facility in Andhra Pradesh.
“OnePlus has sold over 250k OnePlus One units in India.” said Vikas Agrawal, GM, OnePlus India “We look forward to starting local production of our smartphones in India. Local production will cater to the fast growing demands for OnePlus in India”
