OnePlus 4 with Snapdragon 830 SoC rumored to launch in mid-2017
Just over two years ago, OnePlus entered the smartphone market with the launch of OnePlus One which redefined the flagship segment. Since then, the company has launched two more flagships – the OnePlus 2 and OnePlus 3.
Now, a new report from Weibo suggests that the fourth iteration to the company’s flagship – OnePlus 4 will be launching sometime in June-July 2017 and will be powered by the yet-to-be released Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 SoC.
Last month, Samsung signed a deal with the chipset maker Qualcomm to be the exclusive manufacturer for next year’s Snapdragon 830 SoC using its new and highly-efficient 10nm manufacturing process. The chipset is expected to have an octa-core setup, support 4K display resolutions and up to 8GB of RAM.
The other speculations regarding the OnePlus 4 suggest that the Snapdragon 830 SoC on the device will be clocked at 3GHz, which will be coupled with an Adreno 620 GPU. The phone is expected to be running Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box and be backed by a big 4000 mAh battery.
Meanwhile, the upgraded variant of OnePlus 3, dubbed as the ‘OnePlus 3T‘ is expected to be launched at the end of this year. The smartphone is expected to be running on Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC and Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box and will come at a higher price than the original OnePlus 3.
However, there is no official word from the company about OnePlus 4 yet. So, you are advised to take this report with a pinch of salt. Stay tuned for more updates!
