Moto X4 new variant with 6 GB RAM and Android 8.0 Oreo launched in India at Rs. 24,999

Motorola doesn’t seem to like staying out of the spotlight, after online render leaks and surprise announcements, now it’s a surprise launch. Well, it’s not a new phone altogether, but a new variant of the Moto X4, which the company had launched last year. The new variant of the Moto X4 carries similar configurations, as its predecessors. The only change has happened in terms of RAM which has now been increased to 6 GB and the OS, as the new variant will run on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.

The Moto X4 (6 GB) will come with a price tag of  Rs. 24,999 and will be available for purchase exclusively through Flipkart with launch offers such as a flat discount worth Rs. 1,500 on use of ICICI credit card, Rs. 3,000 exchange discount, and a bundled data offer on Vodafone network, to offer up to 490 GB data free on recharges of Rs. 199.

Upon purchase, the smartphone will only have Google Assistant support, Amazon’s Alexa integration is also expected to make way to the new Moto handset via later updates, enabling the new Moto X4 operable with two of the most advanced virtual assistants. Talking about other specifications of the phone, the Moto X4 (6 GB) features a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) LTPS IPS LCD display with 424 PPI pixel density and Corning Gorilla Glass protection on the front and the back. It is powered by a 2.2 GHz octa-core Snapdragon 630 SoC backed with 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal memory storage.

The Moto X4 (6 GB) comes with a dual camera set-up on the rear with a 12 MP dual pixel sensor with f/2.0 and an 8 MP ultra-wide angle sensor with a 120-degree field of view, f/2.2 aperture. On the front side, the smartphone packs a 16 MP sensor with flash and f/2.0 aperture. Other features on the phone include NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, GPS, GLONASS, dual SIM card support with 4G VoLTE. As for the dimensions of the phone are concerned, it measures 148.4 x 73.4 x 8 mm and weighs 163 g. The Moto X4 (6 GB) will be backed by 3,000 mAh battery with fast charging support.
