Meizu A5 with 5 inch HD display, 8 MP rear camera, 2 GB RAM and 4G VoLTE launched

The Chinese smartphone maker Meizu has launched another budget smartphone in its ‘A’ series dubbed by the name Meizu A5. The smartphone comes in as an entry level device and is priced at CNY 699 (roughly Rs. 6,600). It is listed on the company’s official website and is available for sale in China, while as of now there is no clue of its availability in other markets including India. The smartphone is available in black, gold and silver color options.

The Meizu A5 sports a 5-inch HD (720 x 1280 pixels) display with 294 pixel density, and has got a 64-bit 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor under the hood along with a Mali-T720 GPU. The device comes with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage which can be further expanded upto 128 GB via microSD card. The Meizu A5 runs on Flyme OS based on Android (version unspecified).

In the imaging department, the smartphone holds an 8-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, coupled with 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture. The front camera is also equipped with features like face exposure enhancements and the company’s smart beauty filters.

The smartphone houses a 3,060 mAh battery along with 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS as connectivity options. The on-board sensors of Meizu A5 include, gravity sensor, proximity sensor, e-compass, ambient light sensor, and infrared sensor. The smartphone measures 144 x 70.5 x 8.3 mm and weighs 140 grams.
