Huawei Honor 9 with 5.15” screen, 6 GB RAM and dual rear cameras launched
Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has launched its ‘Honor 9’ smartphone as it was scheduled. The smartphone comes as a successor of previously launched Honor 8 and boasts some impressive specifications. Honor 9 is launched in 3 different variants depending on the RAM and internal storage. The 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage variant is priced at 2299 Yuan (Rs. 21,900 approx) while the 6 GB RAM and 64 GB storage variant comes at price tag of 2699 Yuan (Rs. 26,000 approx) and finally the 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage variant is priced at 2999 Yuan (Rs. 28,500 approx). The smartphone will go for sale from Friday and will be available in Amber Gold, Black and Blue color options.
Coming down to the specifications, the Honor 9 sports a 5.15-inches Full-HD (1080 x 1920 pixel) display along with DCI-P3 color space, similar to that used in Galaxy S8 and iPhone 7. The smartphone is power by company’s in-house 2.4 GHz octa-core Kirin 960 processor. The device comes with massive 4 GB/ 6 GB RAM along with 64 GB/ 128 GB internal storage, further expandable up to 256 GB via microSD card. Honor 9 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat based Emotion UI (EMUI) 5.1 out-of-the-box.
Taking about the imaging department which is one of the highlights, the Honor 9 holds a dual rear camera with a 20-megapixel monochrome sensor alongside a 12-megapixel RGB sensor with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF and two-tone LED flash. There is also an 8 MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The rear camera provides 2x optical zoom with portrait and bokeh modes.
The smartphone packs a 3,200 mAh non-removable battery along with fast charge support. The connectivity options include, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, USB Type-C and a 3.5 mm audio jack. Honor 9 also comes with NFC as an additional connectivity option. The smartphone measures 147.3 x 70.9 x 7.45 mm and weighs 155 grams.
