Honor 9 spotted on TENNA, hints at dual rear camera setup and two variants
A few weeks ago, Huawei’s sub brand Honor launched its ‘Honor 8 Lite’ in India, and now it seems that the company is all geared up to bring in its next flagship as well. A new Honor smartphone with the high-end specifications is listed on TENAA with model numbers STF-AL00 & STF-AL10, which is highly expected to be the upcoming flagship Honor 9.
The smartphone comes as successor of the previously launched Honor 8 and was tipped to be unveiled somewhere between May and June, which is not far away. Honor 9 has been listed on TENNA giving away all the important specification details of the smartphone. Also the two different model numbers stipulate that the smartphone will be launched in two variants.
Coming towards the listed specifications, The Honor 9 appears to be sporting a 5.15-inch HD (1080 x 1920 pixel) display with a 2.5D curved glass on top. The smartphone might be powered by Huawei’s own Kirin 960 octa-core processor with a clock speed of 2.4 GHz. As mentioned earlier, the TENNA listing shows the smartphone in two different variants, one with 4 GB RAM and another with 6 GB RAM, both coupled with 64 GB internal storage with further expandability upto 128 GB via microSD card. Honor 9 is said to be running on Android 7.1 Nougat with EMUI 5.1 on top.
The imaging department, as per the listing, shows the availability of a dual camera setup on the rear out of which one will be a 12 MP sensor. Honor 9 was also expected to come with a dual-rear camera setup with a 12 MP sensors each similar to Honor 8 and was rumoured to sport a dual front camera as well, which doesn’t seem to be true as the listing shows a 8 MP front camera for selfies.
Honor 9 packs a 3,100 mAh battery which is well to do and we could also expect it to come with Huawei’s in-house fast charge technology. Looking at the design, the smartphone appears in Gold color and comes with a physical home button which could very well embed a fingerprint scanner as it isn’t sighted on the rear or anywhere else. The device measures 147.3 × 70.9 × 7.45 mm and weighs 155 grams.
Although the launch date of the smartphone is not yet revealed by the company, it is expected to be just round the corner and we can anticipate some more concrete information about Honor 9 in the coming days.
