LG’s 2018 Phones
LG, though being one of the biggest suppliers of smartphone screens, has been incurring losses in the recent few years. As of 2017, they launched the G-Series flagship LG G6 in the first half of the year, while the V-Series flagship LG V30+ was launched in the second half. The company is very positive about their future since they have decided to break away, from the traditional yearly smartphone launch cycle.
One big thing for 2018 is, LG has recently rebranded their flagship G-Series of phones and is planning to launch new flagship phones, possibly under a new brand. If market sources are to be believed LG is preparing a new brand strategy for the G series in the first half of the year. Numbering the phone with a two-digit number and rebranding the phone with a new name are some of the options on the table.
As for the V Series of phones, the company launched the LG V30+ smartphone last year which was well received by the audience and the experts alike. But disappointingly enough the smartphone failed to make a mark on the market and on LG’s sales record as well. So, a LG V40 with improved specs and future technologies might surely be on the cards but we are far away from any such details as of now.
