Amazon launches new thinner and lighter Kindle eReader at Rs. 5,999

Amazon has launched a new generation Kindle eReader. The new entry-level Kindle is priced at Rs. 5,999 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon.in, while the shipping will start from July 7th.

The new Kindle eReader features a 6-inch ( 600 x 800 pixels) touch screen display with pixel density at 167 ppi. It has 4GB of internal storage to store thousands of books and offers up to 4 weeks of battery life. It also supports WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth audio for blind readers in some countries so that they can listen to books by connecting the Kindle to wireless headsets and speakers.

The Kindle eReader has a thickness of 9.1mm and weighs just 161 grams. It comes in Black and White color variants.
