Facebook announces ‘Reactions’, Soon you will be able to show more emotions on a post
Facebook will soon be offering the users to express their emotions more clearly and showcase others the perfect expression regarding a particular post. The social networking site has launched a new feature ‘Reactions’ that is regarded as the extension of the widely renowned and accessed ‘Like’ button by them. With the help of it, the user will be able to get more ways to show the current emotion regarding their feeling.
Today we’re launching a pilot test of Reactions — a more expressive Like button. As you can see, it’s not a “dislike” button, though we hope it addresses the spirit of this request more broadly. We studied which comments and reactions are most commonly and universally expressed across Facebook, then worked to design an experience around them that was elegant and fun. Starting today Ireland and Spain can start loving, wow-ing, or expressing sympathy to posts on Facebook by hovering or long-pressing the Like button wherever they see it. We’ll use the feedback from this to improve the feature and hope to roll it out to everyone soon.

The new release is made after the proposals of announcing a ‘Dislike’ button. The new ‘Reactions’ will be offering the Facebook users to show love, happiness, shock, sadness and anger through the correspondingly themed emojis. For accessing the feature, a user needs to just hold down the like button that will bring up the seven emojis present in round icon form. ‘Reactions’ as termed by Facebook co-founder and chief executive Mark Zuckerberg stated that it can be used as the power to share more than ever, where a Like might not be the best way to express yourself.
Currently the ‘Reactions’ feature is in final trials and the trial is available for the users present in Ireland and Spain. Reactions also enables the user to display a separate counter for the each reaction as to acknowledge how many sad faces, angry faces and likes etc, has been received on the status uploaded.
Mark Zuckerberg stated about the possibilities of showcasing new options, but also suggested that a dislike option will not be there, although an angry face is one close to dislike.
