Should You Buy?
Overall, the Huawei Honor 6X is a very good smartphone, it offers excellent cameras, good design and performance. However, when you see it as a complete package it still fails to beat the Moto G5 Plus or the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, that said it still is a very good phone and can be purchased for its excellent camera offering.

Huawei after a very long time has launched a balanced budget smartphone, the Honor 6X, which has all the potential to sell well in the Indian market. It packs a metal unibody design with small plastic parts at the top and bottom on the back. The phone looks good and has good build quality, the 2.5D curved glass on the front also adds to the visual appeal and comfort. It has a thickness of 8.2mm and weighs 162 grams.
It sports a 5.5 inches Full HD screen with good display quality and accurate colors. The Honor 6X is powered by Huawei’s own Octa Core HiSilicon Kirin 655 processor clocked at 2.1 GHz, it is paired with Mali-T830MP2 GPU and comes in 3 GB and 4 GB RAM variants. The performance is good, it runs smoothly for normal usage and browsing and also handles games well, however for graphic intensive games it may lag a little at times. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Huawei’s Emotion 4.1 UI, it is decent but has to be improved more.
The Honor 6X’s biggest highlight is in the camera department. It comes with dual rear camera setup having a 12 MP primary camera and a 2 MP camera which captures depth. The picture quality is excellent and it produces nice bokeh effect (blurred background) like DSLR cameras as well. The camera app also offers lots of features, a Pro mode and also allows to change the focus of image after it is taken. Even the 8 MP front camera has very good quality. Overall, in the camera department, the Honor 6X challenges Moto G4 Plus and offers one of the best picture quality at its price.
It packs a very fast fingerprint scanner which can also be used to take selfies, browse photos, answering calls, etc. It is a Dual sim smartphone with 4G and VoLTE support. It comes in two storage variants – 32 GB and 64 GB and can be further expanded up to 128 GB via a hybrid slot. Another good thing about the phone is the non-removable 3340 mAh battery which delivers very good battery backup and also comes with fast charging support.
