Micromax’s subsidiary Yu Televentures is all set to bring in their next smartphone in India. The company few years back had launched its Yu Yureka smartphone which became fairly popular in the budget segment. Yu Televentures is now going to launch its successor by the name ‘Yureka Black’ on 1st June, for which the company has apparently started sending press invites.
The company has already started teasing the smartphone by the name Yureka Black. Also, the press invites clearly mentions that, “Yureka is back with Black” with an image which barely shows the rear of the smartphone. The company has also released a promotional video of the smartphone teasing its arrival.

There isn’t much revealed about the Yureka Black yet, however from the images the company has teased, we can take guesses regarding the design of the smartphone. The image shows the smartphone in black color and it appears as if the camera placement shifts to the centre of rear panel from top left as it was in the predecessor ‘Micromax Yu Yureka’. Also it an obvious fact that the smartphone will come with upgraded specifications and improved design matching the current vibe.
To recall, the Micromax Yu Yureka smartphone was launched back in 2015 and came in as a mid-segment device priced at Rs. 8,999. Inspite of being a mid-segment smartphone, it came with impressive specifications having an upper hand over its competitors.
Yu Yureka sported a 5.5-inch HD (720p) LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and was powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core chipset. The device came with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage with expandability upto 32 GB via microSD card. The smartphone ran on Cyanogen OS which was based on Android 4.4 KitKat.
The imaging department included a 13 MP f/2.2 aperture rear camera with a Sony EXMOR CMOS sensor. The rear camera supported Full-HD recording and was also capable of shooting slow motion videos at 60 fps. The smartphone also held a 5 MP front camera for selfies. The device packed a 2,500 mAh battery and came with 4G support.
Coming back to the Yureka Black, it is scheduled to be launched on 1st June and till then we’ll have to wait to see what Micromax has in store for us this time. Also, it will be interesting to see if the smartphone will be able to gain the same amount of attention as its predecessor did, as the competition has changed a lot over the years and the market is now vastly dominated by the Chinese companies in the budget segment.
We’ll keep you updated, stay tuned!
