Xiaomi Mi MIX with 6.4-inch bezel-less display, Snapdragon 821 SoC launched in China
After launching the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 at the ‘Curved to Impress’ event in China, the company also unveiled its concept smartphone, dubbed as ‘Mi MIX’ which features an edge-to-edge display.
The Xiaomi Mi MIX boasts a huge 6.4-inch bezel-less display with 91.3 percent screen to body ratio. The smartphone gets an all-ceramic build which makes it sturdy and strong. The device is designed by the renowned designer Philippe Starck. The smartphone doesn’t feature a conventional earpiece. Instead, it uses conduction technology to use the top section to produce sound.
As far as other specifications are concerned, the Mi MIX is powered by 2.35 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC coupled with Adreno 53 GPU. The processor is paired with 4GB LPDDR4 RAM and 128GB storage. There is also a Mi MIX Pro model which sports 6GB RAM, 256GB storage and an 18 karat gold rim around the rear camera and fingerprint sensor at the back.
On the photography front, it sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with dual-LED flash, PDAF, 4K videos at 30fps. The 5-megapixel front-facing camera is placed on the bottom right corner of the small bezel, which is 50% smaller than a standard camera sensor.
The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with MIUI 8 on top. It is backed by a 4400 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support. It also houses 24-bit HD audio, just like Mi Note 2. It uses Ultrasonic technology instead of a standard proximity sensor.
The Xiaomi Mi MIX comes in black colour and is priced at 3499 yuan (approx. Rs. 34530) for the standard 4GB RAM with 128GB storage variant. The Mi MIX Pro with 6GB RAM, 256GB storage and an 18 karat gold finish on the rear camera and fingerprint sensor is priced at 3999 Yuan (approx. Rs. 39,500). The smartphone goes on sale from 4th November in China.
