Xiaomi launches Redmi 4A in a new 3 GB RAM & 32 GB internal storage variant in India at Rs. 6,999

Xiaomi launched a new variant of its widely popular budget smartphone Redmi 4A today in India. The smartphone prior to this, only came with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage, while now it will also be available with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage. The 3 GB variant of Redmi 4A comes at a price of Rs. 6,999 and will be available via all the major online retailers i.e Flipkart, Amazon India, Paytm, Tata CliQ and can also be purchase from mi.com starting from Thursday.

Apart from the RAM and storage upgrade, rest all the other specifications of the smartphone remains the same. The Redmi 4A sports a 5-inch HD (720 x 1280 pixels) display, a 1.4 GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor adjoining Adreno 308 GPU and 2 GB/ 3 RAM with 16 GB/ 32 GB internal storage which can be further expanded up to 128 GB via micro-SD card. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with MIUI 8.0 on top.
It comes with a 13 MP f/2.2 aperture rear camera with PDAF and a 5-lens system added with LED flash. Also the front camera is 5 MP, again with a f/2.2 aperture. The phone has a poly-carbonate body instead of metal one and measures 139.5 x 70.4 x 8.5 mm with 131.5 grams of weight. It holds a 3,120 mAh battery for its powering.
For connectivity, there is 4G VoLTE, Dual-sim support, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1 and GPS. The on board sensors include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, infrared sensor and proximity sensor.
