Should You Buy?
Overall, the Vivo V7, with its excellent set of cameras, is a beautiful smartphone with a big screen having 18:9 aspect ratio but a compact body due to narrow bezels. However, it does not have a Full HD+ display, nor does it have a processor which justifies the price. So, it is up to you, you get excellent cameras, Full view display and Facial unlock but you have to sacrifice in the display resolution and performance. If you are okay with this, it can be a good choice.

The latest smartphone to come out from Vivo’s kitty is yet another selfie-centric smartphone, the Vivo V7. But this time, it not only packs in a big selfie camera but has also got the narrow bezel design with trending 18:9 aspect ratio display. Going into the design part in details first, the Vivo V7 is a beauty which comes in a sturdy build which looks like a metal unibody but is actually a plastic build, with just a metal trim around the edges. The big 5.7 inches screen occupies much of the front of the phone, as it has got an excellent 83.6% screen to body ratio.
The good thing about the display is that it comes with an 18:9 aspect ratio, while the disappointing thing is that it is only HD+ (720 x 1440 pixels) display and not a Full HD+ display. At this price and for this big screen, this really is disappointing. However, the display quality in actual is a good one for an HD+ display. Now, let’s come to another big highlight of the smartphone, which usually is a highlight for almost all the Vivo smartphones, the camera department. It packs in a 16 MP rear camera with f2.0 aperture and clicks really good images in daylight while the night or artificial light performance is not bad either.
But a bigger surprise lies on the front, where it features a 24 MP selfie shooter with f2.0 aperture and moonlight LED flash. It clicks amazing selfies and is one of the best selfie shooters around. It also comes with portrait mode for selfies and facial beautification. The Vivo V7 is powered by a 1.8 GHz Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor coupled with 4 GB RAM and Adreno 506 GPU. The performance is decent and it handles day to day usage as well as multitasking and some gaming smoothly, although for serious or heavy gamers there are better options at this price.
It runs on Android v7.1 Nougat based Funtouch OS 3.2, which like other Vivo phones comes with lots of features. The Vivo V7 also packs in another trending feature of Facial unlock, which Vivo calls as ‘Face Access’, it is very fast and accurate, you just need to look at the phone after waking it up and it unlocks the phone in no time. It also comes with a very fast fingerprint scanner situated on the back. The Vivo V7 is a dual sim phone with dedicated slots. It comes with 32 GB internal storage which is expandable up to 256 GB. The phone is backed by a non-removable 3000 mAh Lithium-ion battery, which gives decent battery backup, it doesn’t support fast charging.
