Samsung Galaxy S8+ with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage launched in India at Rs. 74,990
It seems that the 6 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage variant of Samsung Galaxy S8+ will be no longer exclusive to China and South Korea only, as it has now made its way to India. Samsung has finally launched the upgraded RAM and in-built storage variant of Galaxy S8+ smartphone in India. The smartphone variant comes at a price of Rs. 74,990 and will be available for sale from June 9th. It will be up for pre-orders from tomorrow i.e 2nd June itself via Samsung Stores and Flipkart.
The smartphone also comes with an introductory offer under which the buyers will be benefited with a wireless charger worth Rs. 4,499 for free. The new Galaxy S8+ (6 GB RAM) will be available only in Midnight black color variant as of now.
Rest all the specifications expect the RAM and internal storage of the smartphone remains the same. To recall, both Galaxy S8 and S8+ smartphones were launched in India back in April and were priced at Rs. 57,900 and Rs. 64,900 respectively. Talking about the specs, Galaxy S8 sports a 5.8-inch QHD+ (1440 x 2960 pixels) Super AMOLED display where as the Galaxy S8+ bears a 6.2-inch QHD+ (1440 x 2960 pixels) Super AMOLED display. Both the smartphones have end-to-end bezel-less display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the screen as well as back.
Originally powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor, they are brought in India with the Exynos 8895 octa-core processor clocked at 2.3 GHz coupled with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB inbuilt storage. In the imaging department, both the smartphones feature a 12 MP ‘Dual pixel’ rear camera with f/1.7 aperture and optical image stabilisation. Also, there is an 8 MP f/1.7 aperture front camera with auto-focus and 80 degree wide angle lens.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 comes with a 3,000 mAh battery where as the Galaxy S8+ is provided with a bigger 3,500 mAh battery. Both the devices support wireless charging, smart charging and quick charging. The Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ sport an Iris scanner along with Samsung’s improved Facial recognition technology, which can also be used to unlock the devices in no time.
The regular on board sensors include accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, barometer, heart rate counter etc. For connectivity, there is 4G VoLTE (Cat. 16), Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4 GHz, 5 GHz), Bluetooth v5.0, USB Type-C, NFC and GPS. Also, the Galaxy S8 and S8+ are the first smartphones with Bluetooth v5.0 and can stream on two devices at a time. Both the phones come with IP68 rating which makes them water and dust resistant.
