Samsung Galaxy S8 live image leaked; launch expected on 29th March
The much rumoured and the upcoming flagship smartphone the ‘Samsung Galaxy S8’ has been leaked in a live image along with some specifications and launch date. The live image has been shared by the popular tipster Evan Blass.
As we can see in the leaked image, the Samsung Galaxy S8 sports a large display with a minimal bezel design at the front. Justifying the previous reports and leaks, there is no typical home button of Samsung on the front. The fingerprint scanner is mounted at the back adjacent to the camera which sits in the top-centre, along with the flash module to the left of it.
The Samsung logo has been moved to the back, in order to enhance the minimal bezel design look. The image also reveals that the 3.5mm audio jack is coming back. Furthermore, the Galaxy S8 will sport a USB Type-C port, and a speaker grille at the bottom edge.
As far as specifications are concerned, the Samsung Galaxy S8 will come in two variants – 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch sporting QHD AMOLED display. It is expected to run on the latest and powerful Snapdragon 835 processor or a 10nm in-house Exynos processor depending on regions.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 will feature a 12-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. It will run on Android 7.0 Nougat with 4GB RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage. The device is also rumored to come with Bixby virtual assistant that will use the camera for visual search.
As far as the launch date is concerned, this time Samsung is not following its trend of launching the Galaxy S model just prior to the start of Mobile World Congress, in Barcelona, which is at the end of February. Instead, it is holding an unpacked event on 29th March in New York. The 5.8-inch model is said to retail for €799 and the 6.2-inch model at €899 in Europe. Both the models are expected to go on sale from 21st April.
However, we will get to know more details about the smartphone in coming time. Stay tuned for more updates!
