Samsung Galaxy Note 8 to launch next month, confirms CEO; new renders shows off infinity display
Just like any other flagship smartphone from Samsung, the upcoming Galaxy Note 8 is also creating a lot of buzz with continuous flow of leaks and rumours. A lot has been speculated regarding the smartphone but this time we have something that might just be pretty much confirm. The CEO of Samsung Gao Dongzhen has confirmed that the smartphone will be launching by the end of next month.
As per a report on PhonesDaily, during an event in Taiwan the CEO Gao Dongzhen confirmed that the Galaxy Note 8 will be unveiled by the end of August. Although he didn’t mention a specific date but it is highly expected to be 23rd August considering a report that popped up a while ago. Apart from the launch, the CEO also confirmed that the smartphone will be released in two steps around the world, where in the first phase it will available in early September in select markets of the US, Korea, and the UK. While it is expected to be available in other global markets including India during the second phase, which will commence in October.
At the very beginning, Samsung was rumoured to launch the Galaxy Note 8 at IFA 2017 in Berlin, an annual tradeshow which takes place in September, but the company then seemed to have changed its plans. Amongst all the confusion regarding the launch date, we now at least know that the smartphone is coming in August and it won’t be clashing with the launch of Apple’s much awaited iPhone 8, 7s and 7s Plus.
Meanwhile, the smartphone is again up with some leaked renders which shows off its bezel less Infinity display similar to that of the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. The twitter user Ice Universe has posted an image of the front panel of the smartphone which falls in line with the previous leaks which indicate that the smartphone will sport a bezel-less design which Samsung calls as the infinity display. The front of the Galaxy Note 8 appears to be the same as that of Galaxy S8 and S8+ but seems to be a bit more wider.

The leaked images prior to this already showed that the smartphone will come with an horizontally alignment dual rear camera with a not so comfortably placed fingerprint scanner which is beside the camera on the rear panel. The smartphone is also expected to come with a heart rate sensor, an Iris scanner and a face recognition sensor.
Talking about some previously leaked specifications, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is said to sport a 6.3-inch display, most probably with QHD resolution and could be powered by a Snapdragon 835 or an Exynos SoC along with 6 GB RAM and 256 GB internal storage. The previous leaks also suggest that the dual camera setup will consist of a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens supporting dual photodiode and a 13-megapixel telephoto lens. The report also states that it will support 3X optical zoom, dual 6P lenses and dual OIS as well.
