Samsung Galaxy A8+ Review:

In the very start of the year, Samsung has launched its latest upper mid-range smartphone, Galaxy A8+, a phone which sits a step below its flagship Galaxy S8/S8+ and Galaxy Note 8 smartphones but packs in some of the best features from the flagship smartphones. The Galaxy A8+ comes with the Infinity Display in a narrow-bezel design and looks stunning with its premium metal glass body, which comes in different color options and feels great in hands with rounded corners.

It sports a big 6.0 inches screen, which comes with Super AMOLED display having FHD+ (1080 x 2220 pixels) resolutions, 18.5:9 aspect ratio and 411 ppi density. As always, Samsung’s AMOLED display is awesome, the colors are natural and punchy and one can immediately start loving the phone looking at its display. It also comes with Always on Display, which shows notification icons, date and time when the phone is locked. The Samsung Galaxy A8+ is powered by a 2.2 GHz Octa Core Exynos 7885 processor coupled with 6 GB RAM and Mali-G71 GPU. The performance is very good and it handles everything smoothly, be it heavy multitasking or gaming.

The strengthier part of the phone is its camera department, where it has got a dual front camera setup for the first time in a Samsung smartphone. It includes a 16 MP, f/1.9 aperture primary sensor with an 8 MP, f/1.9 aperture wide-angle sensor. The selfies come out really excellent, with great colors and lots of details. You also get lots of software enhancements which include stickers using face-recognition technology, Food mode, Beauty effect, filters, bokeh effects and live focus (lets you adjust the background blur before and after the image is shot). On the rear, there is a 16 MP camera with F1.7 lens, 1.12㎛ pixels, and big 1/2.8” sensor which is not only an excellent shooter in daylight conditions but also clicks very good low light images.

The phone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat based Samsung Experience 8.5 and should soon get Android Oreo. On the software part, Samsung is doing a very hard work, touching down small aspects which improve the user experience. You get Bixby, smart search for gallery, Samsung Pay, Secure Folder (separate space for sensitive and personal data) and a lot more. The Samsung Galaxy A8+ also comes with Face Recognition unlock which works well, it also gets a fast and accurate fingerprint scanner on the back below the camera.

It also comes with IP68 certification which makes it Water & Dust resistant, which is a great thing. It comes with dedicated slots for the two sim and microSD card. It gets 64 GB of onboard storage, which is expandable up to 256 GB. It has got USB Type-C for data syncing and charging. It packs in a 3500 mAh Lithium-ion battery with fast charging support and has decent battery backup. Due to a big battery, the phone weighs on the higher side at 191 grams.
