Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A7 (2017) prices slashed down by up to Rs. 5,000
The Galaxy A5 (2017) is now available at Rs. 22,900 and the Galaxy A7 (2017) is available at Rs. 25,900
Samsung’s 2017 edition of the Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 smartphones have apparently recently received a price cut in India. Both the smartphones were launched back in March in India, where the Galaxy A7 (2017) was priced at Rs. 33,490 and the Galaxy A5 (2017) was priced at Rs. 28,990. After a while, the prices were brought down to Rs. 26,900 and Rs. 30,900 for the Galaxy A5 (2017) and the Galaxy A7 (2017), which have now been again revised to Rs. 22,900 and Rs 25,900 respectively, making it a heavy price cut of up to Rs. 5000.
As per the company, the new prices for the smartphones are already effective. With the price cut, the smartphones stand a better chance to compete against others in the mid-range segment. The smartphones like Moto Z2 Play, Honor 8, Vivo V5 Plus and Oppo F3 Plus are quite popular in the mid-range which’ll now have to face even more competition with the Galaxy A7 (2017) and Galaxy A5 (2017) hopping in with the reduced price.
Few highlights of the smartphones include an improved camera, water and dust resistance (IP68 rating) which is first in the ‘A’ series, premium metallic design and some Samsung specific features such as Samsung Pay, Samsung cloud storage and Secure folder.
The Galaxy A7 (2017) comes with a 5.7 inches Full HD Super AMOLED display while the Galaxy A5 (2017) comes with a 5.2 inches Full HD Super AMOLED display. The smartphones run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and are powered by a 1.9 GHz Octa-core Exynos 7880 processor coupled with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage space, expandable up to 256 GB using a micro SD card. Both the smartphones come with a 16 MP camera with f/1.9 aperture on the rear as well as on the front. Battery wise, the Galaxy A7 (2017) contains a big 3600 mAh battery where as that of the Galaxy A5 (2017) is 3000 mAh.
