Reliance Jio announces ‘Happy New Year’ Offer; extends free services till 31st March 2017
As speculated, Reliance Jio has announced the extension of its welcome offer. The new offer has been named as ‘Happy New Year’ offer, under which every new Jio user from 4th December will get free voice call, data and messages till 31st March 2017.
Existing customers should note that they need not buy a new Jio sim, as they will be automatically signed up for the Happy New Year offer after 31st December 2016. Reliance Jio has also announced Jio Money merchant app, which aims to provide easy monetary transactions for small merchants.
Under the current Welcome offer, data is capped at 4GB per day, however, after 1st January data will be capped at 1GB per day. The company says that only 20% of Jio users use over 1GB of data per day. It also said that this is 30 times the use on other networks.
Further, speaking about issues faced by Jio subscribers during the current period, Ambani said Jio’s network is built for speed and capacity and the company has faced issues with 8 percent of its towers, and the company is working to improve its towers and provide better mobile data speeds.
Reliance Jio has already crossed 50 million subscribers in just 83 days and now with the free services extended till 31st March 2017, the aim of gaining 100 million subscribers could be achieved by the company.
