Reliance Jio 4G VoLTE-enabled feature phone with shortcut keys to Jio services leaked
Reliance Jio seems all ready to disrupt the mobile industry by launching 4G VoLTE enabled feature phones priced at around Rs. 1299 only. The first leaked image of the Reliance Jio’s feature phone has been spotted by fonearena, which shows the phone with shortcut buttons.
As you can see in the leaked image, the feature phone comes with 4 shortcut keys for MyJio, JioTV, JioCinema and JioMusic below the display. The feature phone sports a candybar form factor with the T9 keypad and D-pad in the middle for navigation. The phone also has a dedicated button for torchlight, but it doesn’t have a touchscreen display.
Currently, there is no details on the specifications of the phone yet. However, as per some previous reports, the feature phones are said to come with front and rear cameras for video calling. The 4G VoLTE-enabled feature phones are said to run on Android operating system.
As per an earlier report, Reliance Jio is expected to use Spreadtrum chipsets for its 4G VoLTE feature phones, though the company was also said to be in talks with chip giants Qualcomm and MediaTek for low-cost 4G VoLTE enabled processors.
As Reliance Jio’s service works only with 4G-enabled devices, the company is coming up with cheap feature phones in order to boost adoption for its 4G service. The service offers free voice calls and access to Jio apps and the 4G plans start for as low as Rs 149 per month. With cheap 4G feature phones, Reliance Jio will surely attract more users and increase its consumer base drastically.
We should know more details about the 4G VoLTE enabled feature phones from Reliance Jio in coming time. Stay tuned for more updates!
