Now book Ola and Uber cabs from Google Maps in India

The search engine giant, Google has introduced a dedicated tab with information for ride services in Google Maps. Now users can check if Uber or Ola is available from the app itself.

Google has already tied up with Uber globally, and has now added new providers across five countries: 99Taxis in Brazil, Ola Cabs in India, Hailo in the UK and Spain, mytaxi in Germany and Spain, and Gett in the UK.

Users can also view the taxi fare and riding options from the app, if they have already installed Uber and Ola app. The new cab service tab will be added with the existing car, transit, walking, or biking options. Currently, the feature is being rolled out on Android and will soon be available on iOS as well.

“If you have a provider’s app installed and tap on the ride service tab, you’ll be able to see fare estimates and pick up times if a car is available near you. Select a service, and we’ll take you directly to their app for you to book your ride with one tap.”
– Google.
Google also said that sometime later it will also show ride service availability when viewing the map in walking and transit directions, and multiple ride services options for each provider – where they exist.
