Nokia has finally entered into the Android ecosystem. Although this entry is very late but almost everyone is excited to see some beautiful Android devices from Nokia. To start with Android, Nokia has launched 3 new Android phones: Nokia X, Nokia X+ & Nokia XL. All the three phones have just average hardware and no flagship stuff here.

In this post, let’s concentrate only on Nokia X which is the only available in the markets among the 3. The Nokia X runs on the forked version of Android. It means that Nokia has made changes to the original Android OS and modified it for its Android Phones. Instead of the pure Android Experience Nokia has modified the UI to look much like a Windows phone.

More to disappoint, the Nokia X lacks all the Google’s services like Play Store, Maps, Calendar, Google Now and more. Instead, Nokia has created a new app store for its Android devices which consists of many popular apps from the Play Store. Also, if the developers make slight changes to the app, you can sideload all the apps from the Play Store.

So, should you buy the Nokia X or not?

The hardware packed in the Nokia X is not very exciting but considering the price point at which it is offered it is good. Moreover, Nokia is known for best optimizing the performance of the phone and taking out most from the less powerful chips. So, performance is not an issue with the Nokia X. It has good enough performance. Coming to the phone’s camera its just 3.15 MP but Nokia is known for its better camera quality and its the same with the X. The photo quality is good. The phone has a very good design and build quality. The Nokia X is offered in many vibrant colors which adds to its charm.

Most of the aspects are discussed now lets come to the most important thing. We all know there are many phones from Indian brands like Micromax, Karbonn, etc. which have better specs, bigger screen, higher camera. So is it worth to spend the money on Nokia?

The answer is yes. Many companies offer good specs but what about the after sales service and customer support. They are absolute disaster in that. And this is where Nokia scores heavily. People trust Nokia and that’s what is very important.

Finally, what to expect from the Nokia X?

Though it is Android, you should not expect a pure android experience from it. Be ready to see Windows phone like UI and tiles. No worries though, you can install launchers like Nova Launcher, Go launcher, etc and get an experience much closer to original Android.  On the performance front, it is not too fast and you may experience some lags. You might get many apps running on the Nokia X but you will never get all the apps.

But considering its Nokia and a low price with a good overall package, it is recommended to buy this phone.
