After the re-entry of Nokia phones in the market, they haven’t been able to garner a huge success or best reviews, despite the phones being good. But the new Nokia 7 Plus from the company looks set to change all this. The Nokia 7 Plus, when you look at it for the very first time, will leave you with a solid impression of it being a premium phone. It comes in a metal unibody design, built out of a single piece of series 6000 aluminium and coated with ceramic-feel paint, which makes the phone feel very sturdy and comfortable with good grip.
It has got diamond cut edges on this sides and beautiful copper color linings on the camera module, fingerprint scanner and the edges, which makes it look beautiful and different at the same time. The overall built quality of the phone is really very good and premium. Its beauty is, however, enhanced by a big bezel-less display. It sports a 6 inches Full HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio, 405 ppi pixel density, and 500 nits brightness. The display quality is very good, it has good colors and nice viewing angles.
When it comes to the performance, the Nokia 7 Plus brings in the great new Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, which comes with 8 Kryo 260 cores and a clock speed of 2.0 GHz. It comes paired with 4 GB LPDDR4 RAM and Adreno 512 GPU, and the performance is great. It handles everything very smoothly, be it heavy games, heavy multitasking or your day to day usage, everything is really fast and snappy. Now coming to the software department, where again the Nokia 7 Plus shines, it runs on the latest Android 8.0 Oreo with Stock Android and comes under ‘Android One’ program by Google with very fast and promised updates for 2 years. Being an Android One smartphone, it also gets the benefit of free unlimited high-quality photo storage with Google Photos, the popular gallery app from Google.
Well, the good things have not ended yet, as the Nokia 7 Plus comes with powerful optics. On the back, it has got a dual camera setup with 12 MP + 13 MP (2x optical zoom ) sensors with ZEISS optics. The picture quality is excellent in daylight conditions and also pretty good in low light or artificial light conditions. On the front, it sports a big 16 MP selfie shooter, again with ZEISS optics. The selfie quality is also excellent. The feature-packed camera app comes with features like a full pro mode, bothie mode (lets you click photos simultaneously from both the cameras in the same frame), PIP mode and Bokeh effects. In all, the Nokia 7 Plus is a strong smartphone in terms of cameras and will give you satisfactory results for all types of smartphone photography needs.
One more thing in the Nokia 7 Plus is excellent, the big battery. It is backed by a 3800 mAh Li-Ion battery which delivers very good battery backup and will last for more than a day for most users. It also comes with fast charging support. The dual hybrid sim phone comes with 64 GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 256 GB via microSD card. It packs in a fast and accurate fingerprint scanner on the back and comes with the latest Bluetooth 5.0 and USB Type-C for connectivity.
