Should You Buy?
Overall, the Nokia 6 is very well built all round smartphone. It has decent cameras, good software, good multimedia experience and delivers a pretty good and balanced user experience along with the same old trust and support of Nokia. However at its price, a better processor is highly expected but, if you don’t play heavy games often, the Nokia 6 can be a very good buying option under 15000 Rs.

India’s favourite phone brand – Nokia is finally back in the form which everyone desperately wanted to see, they are back with new Android smartphones. Nokia has licensed its brand name to HMD Global, which is making smartphones in tight partnership with the company. Good thing is, the company has made it clear to put more focus on overall user experience in terms of build quality, battery life, after sales support, software updates, etc. rather than building up on just specs sheet.
Among the newly launched Nokia Android phones, the Nokia 6 sits on top of the table. It comes with beautiful looks and is built with 6000 series aluminium and feels very premium and good to hold in hands, the 2.5D curved glass on front complements to the looks and comfort well. The antenna lines are placed beautifully on the top and bottom of the back, and the phone overall, is beautiful, distinguishable and very well built. It sports a 5.5 inch Full HD IPS display which has very good quality and viewing angles.
Disappointingly, the Nokia 6 runs on the 1.4 GHz octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, no its not a bad processor at all but the thing is, all of its competitor offer much more powerful processors at this price and the Nokia 6 surely lags behind here. It comes with 3 GB RAM and Adreno 505 GPU, and the performance is still good, it runs smoothly for day to day usage and handles games pretty well also but can lag with heavy games. Also, it doesn’t heat much during extensive usage and gaming.
The 16 MP rear camera comes with PDAF and dual LED flash, it has good quality under day light conditions however, there is a fair amount of noise in low and artificial lighting. Still, it can be considered as a good camera phone. The same holds true for the 8 MP front camera as well. The camera app comes with lots of features, among which HDR works really well.
The phone runs on the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Stock Android interface, which runs pretty snappy. It will continue to get fast Android and security updates, as promised by the company. The Nokia 6 packs a good fingerprint scanner situated in the home button below the screen. It also comes with dual speakers with Dolby Atmos and delivers excellent sound quality.
It is a dual sim phone which, sadly comes with a hybrid slot. It supports 4G and VoLTE and comes with 32 GB internal storage which is expandable up to 128 GB via microSD card. The Nokia 6 is backed by a non-removable Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery, which delivers decent battery backup and supports fast charging but with this dimensions, it should have accommodated an even bigger battery. The Nokia 6 units sold in India will be ‘Made in India’.
