Moto Z2 Play could be launched today; gets listed on Brazilian retailer website
Moto Z2 Play has been prone to several leaks and rumours from past few weeks. May it be leaked images, rumoured specifications or benchmark listings, the smartphone has been in each of it. Looking at all the rumours and frequent spotting, it was expected that the smartphone will soon make its way to the shelves, and this is what appears to be happening now. As per the latest rumours, Lenovo’s upcoming smartphone Moto Z2 Play could be unveiled today.
According to a new report, Motorola Canada on twitter shared a post in which the company stated that they are going to launch their next smartphone on June 1. Although the company didn’t mention a particular smartphone but as earlier said, considering the current buzz it could be the Moto Z2 Play. However, there is no surety that the smartphone is Moto Z2 Play only, as the device could also be one from the Moto X series, which in the line-up as well. The company also didn’t mention the time or any other details related to the launch which could cement the speculations.
Apart from this, the smartphone was also listed on a Brazilian retailer website. The Moto Z2 Play was listed with a price tag of BRL 2,699 (Rs. 54,000 approx). The price is said to be inclusive of the InstaShare projector Moto Mod which is priced at Rs. 19,999. The listing details were posted by tipster Roland Quandt on his twitter account and were spotted by GSMArena first.
As mentioned earlier, Moto Z2 Play has been up with a number of leaks keeping very few details left unknown. As per the listing on benchmarking websites, the smartphone will sport will sport a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) display and will have a 2.2 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 processor under the hood coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. The smartphone is speculated to come with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage. The device will be running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
In the imaging department, the Moto Z2 Play is listed to hold a 12 MP rear camera which is less as compared to the 16 MP rear camera of its predecessor. Moto Z2 Play will also come with 4K video recording support. On the front, it will have the same 5 MP camera.
There is still no confirmation regarding any of that facts yet, for which we’ll have to wait till the smartphone is launched later today, if it does. Hence, we advice you to take it with a pinch of salt.
