Moto G5 with 5 inch screen, 13 & 5 MP cameras, Nougat 7.0 launched at Rs. 11,999
After the Moto G5 Plus, Motorola has launched its 2nd phone in its fifth generation of their ‘Moto G’ series – the Moto G5. The smartphone which was first announced in MWC 2017 bears prime features like smart gestures and Moto display similar to that of the Moto G5 Plus. The Moto G5 is priced at Rs. 11,999 and will be exclusively available on Amazon.in from 4th April midnight.
There are a lot of launch offers and goodies brought in by Amazon for the Moto G5. The smartphone will come embedded with Amazon shopping App, Amazon Prime video, Amazon Pay and Kindle. With the purchase of every Moto G5, buyers get 2 days unlimited access to Amazon Prime Video. Also for Prime customers, Rs. 1000 will be credited to the buyer’s Amazon Pay account which can be used to shop anything on the Amazon. Along with this, users can get 80% discount on Kindle books. There is also a cashback of Rs. 1000 if the smartphone is bought through HDFC cards and an additional Rs. 500 bonus is provided for exchanges. The smartphone also comes bundled with a free 16 GB Sandisk MicroSD card.
Looking towards the specifications, the Moto G5 sports a 5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The smartphone has got a 1.4 GHz Octa-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor coupled with Adreno 505 GPU. Buyers can choose between two variants, one with 2 GB RAM and another with 3 GB RAM along side 16 GB of internal memory which can be further extended (up to 128 GB) via MicroSD card. The smartphone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat.
The optics on the Moto G5 include a 13 MP f/2.0 aperture rear camera with phase detection auto-focus (PDAF) which makes it easy to lock on to the target and a dual-tone LED flash, teamed with a 5 MP front camera that is equipped by a OmniVision OV5693 sensor and a wide angle lens. There are also a couple of smart features like Multiple shots, which automatically suggests the best shot, along with gesture control and beautification modes.
The connectivity options of the Moto G5 include Dual-sim support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n with dual-band support, Bluetooth 4.2, micro-USB v2.0 and GPS. The smartphone contains a fingerprint sensor on the home button and also has a water-repellent nano coating along with other on-board sensors such as accelerometer, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor and gyroscope.
It has a 2,800 mAh removable battery which is claimed to last for the entire day and also supports 10W Rapid charging. Design wise, the smartphone holds a premium metal design made up of aluminium 6000 and is also spill proof inspite of having a removable back. The phone measures 144.3 x 73 x 9.5 mm with a weight of 144.5 gms.
With the launch of the Moto G5, Motorola also shared interesting data about the Moto G4 users. As per the stats, the Moto G4 users spent 2.7 billion minutes on social media in the last 30 days alone. They also added that 40 % of the Moto G4 users go on the Amazon App daily.
