Micromax partners with MediaTek, Canvas Fire 4G with Android 5.1 also launched
Micromax, today announced its partnership with the leading chipset maker MediaTek and it will soon come up with a Helios X10 powered smartphone. With this tie-up, Micromax Informatics will become the first Indian smartphone company to launch a smartphone with new Helios X10. Along with this announcement, Micromax also launched the Canvas Fire 4G smartphone. Let’s take a look at it first.
The Micromax Canvas Fire 4G comes with a 4.5 inch display. It has quad-core MediaTek MT6735M 64-bit processor clocked at 1 GHz and paired with 1 GB of RAM. It has an 8 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded using a microSD card and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box.
The smartphone supports 4G LTE connectivity, it also sports 5 megapixel rear and 2 megapixel front camera. The company hasn’t revealed anything about its price or availability.
Coming back to the partnership with Mediatek:

Today’s partnership exemplifies the same endeavor and we are delighted to partner with MediaTek for its Helio Family” said Mr. Vineet Taneja, CEO, Micromax Informatics, commenting on the partnership.
He also added:
“We will have 15 to 20 smartphones under $125 (Rs. 8,500 approx.) by end of this year (2015).”
