Lenovo has launched its much awaited phone, the Vibe K5 Note in India. The Indian version of the K5 Note comes with bumped up specs than its Chinese counterpart. And, the Vibe K5 Note is the best specked smartphone than its two predecessors, the K4 Note and K3 Note which were a great hit. So, let’s see what the Vibe K5 Note packs. Starting with the design, the Vibe K5 Note is the first phone in the ‘Kx Note’ series to sport a full metal design. It has got a nice symmetrical design, which looks beautiful and feels premium, its curvy edges on the back also makes it comfortable to hold in hands. The phone weighs 165 grams and has a thickness of 8.49 mm and doesn’t feel bulky. It sports a 5.5 inches Full HD display which has very good display quality, good viewing angles, good colors and good brightness. The phone runs on 1.8 GHz Octa Core Mediatek 6755 Processor, which is a decent performer but much better processors are available at this price, though normal users will not find any difficulties but heavy gamers should stay away from it. The phone comes with 3 GB and 4 GB RAM options. The Vibe K5 Note features a 13 MP rear camera with PDAF and is a good shooter, the pictures have good saturation and depth and the pictures come accurate but, the shutter speed is a little slow. Summing up the rear camera quality, it has good camera but again better camera phones are available at this price. The 8 MP front camera clicks good selfies, it comes with beautification mode and the selfies turn out good. There are two special software features which you only get in a Lenovo phone, TheatreMax and Secure Zone. TheatreMax is Lenovo’s Virtual Reality technology, it basically splits your phone’s screen into two parts for viewing with a VR headset so, with it, you can not only enjoy any video whether it is designed for VR or not but can also play games in the VR mode. Lenovo has also launched the new ANT VR headset and has also launched a remote controller for it so, you can operate the phone while wearing it in the headset. The TheatreMax technology is a really nice addition and multimedia users will truly love it. About Secure Zone, Lenovo’s phones have two zones – Open zone and Secure Zone, where both the zones operate independently from each other, which means you can run the two zones as two separate phones and can install two Whatsapp, two Facebook or any other apps. The phone runs on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Lenovo’s Vibe UI running on top, this time, Lenovo has optimized the Vibe UI even more and has made it leaner. The fingerprint scanner is fast and accurate. It is a dual sim phone with 4G support on both the slots. For storage, it packs 32 GB of internal memory which is expandable upto 128 GB but, has a hybrid slot. It packs a Non-removable 3500 mAh battery which gives a good battery backup. Overall, the Lenovo Vibe K5 Note comes with a good design, good cameras, decent performance (though not enough for heavy gaming) and a good complete package but, it is the multimedia experience for which the phones stands out. So, if you have more multimedia consumption or want to enjoy the VR experience the Vibe K5 Note can be a good choice. if you are a fan of huge screen, the Lenovo PHAB with 6.98 inches screen can be a good choice at Rs. 11,999 but, please first make sure you really want a 7 inches phone!
