Lava launches its first ever laptop ‘Helium 14’ with Windows 10 priced at Rs.14,999
The home grown smartphone maker Lava, on Wednesday launched its first ever laptop dubbed by the name ‘Helium 14’. Lava also announced that it has partnered with Windows (Microsoft) and Intel for its new laptop.
Much like its smartphones, the Lava Helium 14 is also a budget laptop which aims to make the personal computing affordable. The laptop is priced at Rs. 14,999 and is available for purchase online exclusively via Flipkart and will also be sold through select retail stores and other multi-brand outlets across Delhi NCR, Coimbatore, Hyderabad and Bangalore from the first week of July. The laptop is available in Silver and Purple color options.
The Helium 14 laptop holds a sleek, portable and lightweight body which makes it easy to carry around. It sports a 14.1 inch Full-HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) display and is powered by an Intel Atom processor. It comes with 2 GB RAM and 32 GB internal storage which can be further expanded up to 128 GB via microSd card.
The laptop packs a 10,000 mAh battery to power itself where the company claims it to deliver up to 12 hours of usage. The Lava Helium 14 comes with a built-in microchip called Trusted Platform Module (TPM) that has been said to provide all round protection to the laptop. As mentioned earlier, the device holds a light body with mere 1.4 kg of weight.
Commenting on the launch Priyadarshi Mohapatra, Country General Manager, Consumer & Devices Sales at Microsoft India, said:
“We have been working closely with our partners to develop powerful yet affordable personal computing devices to enable Digital India. We are happy to collaborate with Lava to create devices that run on a secure and robust Windows 10 platform, which provides users with enhanced productivity, improved functionality and unified experiences.”
Lava is known for bringing in budget friendly devices but sadly it hasn’t been able to make a strong hold in market. With the launch of its new laptop the company is entering a new league altogether. Now it will be interesting to see if the new laptop is able to draw buyers attention or it will get the same treatment as its smartphones get.
