JioPhone pre-bookings suspended temporarily amid heavy pre-bookings; Full specifications and more
Pre-bookings for the much awaited JioPhone kicked off on 24th August 5 PM and as it was expected, there was a hoard of pre-bookings for the feature phone from Reliance Jio. There were millions of pre-registrations for the feature phone within a short period of time and as a result Jio’s website Jio.com was temporarily down for a while. As of now, the pre-bookings have been suspended altogether, apparently because the site was unable to process all the multiple requests due to the insane popularity.
For time being, the ones looking to pre-book the JioPhone can only register their interest and the rest will be most probably processed when the pre-bookings starts again. The front page on Jio’s site reads, “We will inform you when the pre-booking resumes,” indicating that the option for pre-booking has been removed. There is no clue about when the pre-booking will resume.
Manwhile, for those who have already pre-booked the JioPhone, there is a option of checking the status of their device. The status can be checked by dialing the number, ‘18008908900’. Users will need to share their registered mobile number to know the status of JioPhone. This can be done via MyJio app as well by opening the app and clicking on ‘My Vouchers’ tab.
