Jio Prime Membership subscription deadline extended; 3 months free ‘Summer Surprise’ offer announced

Rumours have been doing rounds and Jio users were eagerly waiting throughout the day for an announcement of Jio Prime Membership subscription deadline extension and finally the good news has arrived. The deadline for Jio Prime Membership subscription has been extended till 15th April. Not only this, get ready for some more happiness as Jio has also announced ‘Summer Surprise’ offer for its Prime members with 3 months complimentary services.

Under the Summer Surprise offer, Jio Prime members will get additional 3 months of free services on the purchase of Rs. 303 or above plans before 15th April. The regular paid subscription of Rs. 303/month will start from July after the Summer Surprise offer ends.

Over the past few days, we have been deluged by millions of customers queuing up to purchase Jio’s popular Rs. 303 and other tariff plans. This nationwide trend indicates that very many customers are still in the process of purchasing Jio Prime and their first paid tariff plan.

Customers who could not enrol for Jio Prime by 31st March for whatever reason can still do so by paying Rs. 99 along with their first purchase of Jio’s Rs. 303 and other plans till 15th April. Jio’s free service period is coming to an end. Users who do not recharge by the extended date of 15th April will experience degradation and/or discontinuation of services. But, I am conscious that this is the largest migration from free to paid services in history. We are committed to doing this gradually, so that both Jio and Jio Prime customers have the time to adjust, fine tune and perfect this transition.

This extension will provide the necessary breathing room for users to avoid service disruption during the transition from free to paid services. This complimentary period will also help to familiarize Jio customers with Jio’s fully digital, self-service process of using the MyJio app to perform recharges and to set up digital payment methods for further purchases.

How to get the Jio Summer Surprise offer:

• To avail the offer, Jio Prime members need to recharge for any Prime Plan worth Rs. 303 or higher before 15th April.
• Non-Prime members will have to first recharge with Rs. 99 to become Prime member and can then recharge with Rs. 303 or higher to get the Summer Surprise offer.
• Users will get all the benefit of the current Happy New Year offer for another 3 months.
• It includes unlimited voice calls and unlimited 4G data with 1 GB/day FUP limit.

The Jio Prime Membership has seen a huge response with 7.2 crore Jio customers subscribing for the paid services in a month. This number has blown away the speculations that Jio Prime membership is seeing a poor response. Today, huge number of customers were seen standing in queues in the Jio stores for subscription to the Prime membership. The last day rush was an indication of the popularity of the Prime membership and speculations went stronger regarding the deadline extension.
