HTC U12 full specifications leaked, to come with Snapdragon 845, 5.99 inch display, Dual Cameras & Face Unlock
Instead of making a traditional announcement in the recently concluded MWC’18, HTC chose to inform its audience about their upcoming smartphone HTC U12 aka HTC ‘Imagine’ via an online like. Although it cannot be said with utmost surety whether the company is responsible for the leaks, keeping in mind the marketing tactics in a competitive market, it cannot be completely denied as well. But in any case, by looking at the specifications, the smartphone looks pretty impressive. So if you are an HTC fan, here is what you need to know.

Talking about the specifications of the smartphone, the HTC U12 will come equipped with a large 5.99-inch QHD+ (2880 x 1440 pixels) Super LCD 6 display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. For computing, the smartphone will be reliant upon the flagship Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, backed by Adreno 630 GPU for graphics processing. The device will be running on the latest Android 8.0 Oreo backed by the in-house HTC Sense UI, and will be available in two major variants of 4 GB and 6 GB RAM, with further sub-variants depending on the internal memory storage of capacity, 64GB / 128GB / 256GB storage (UFS 2.1). The memory can be further expanded up to 2 TB via microSD.
For optics, the HTC U12 will be reliant upon a dual camera set-up on the rear with a 12 MP HTC Ultra Pixel primary sensor and a secondary sensor of 16 MP with dual LED flash. On the front side, the smartphone is equipped with an 8 MP front-facing camera for video calling and selfies. The HTC U12 will be reliant upon 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4 and 5 GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS with GLONASS, NFC and USB Type-C for connectivity and will use a Single / Hybrid Dual SIM (nano + nano / microSD) SIM set-up.
The smartphone has been provided with a fingerprint sensor mounted on the rear and will also come with HTC’s Face Unlock. For power consumption, the smartphone will be reliant upon a 3420 mAh battery with fast charging capabilities. As per the leaks, it has also been revealed that the smartphone has an IP68 ingress protection rating making the device water and dust resistant. It will also come with other features such as USB-C audio, HTC USonic with Active Noise Cancellation, HTC BoomSound Hi-Fi edition and certified Hi-Res audio.
