Should You Buy?
Overall, the Honor 9 Lite is a very beautiful phone with its all-glass build and narrow bezel design. It also comes with a very good 18:9 aspect ratio display and latest Android 8.0 Oreo. However, one of its biggest highlight, the quad cameras, aren’t particularly great, neither is the performance for heavy gamers. Still, the Honor 9 Lite, especially the 3 GB variant packs in a lot a for its price and delivers many things which are unbeatable at this price. You can especially go for it if you want a more comfortable (like 5.2 inches) 18:9 display phone. It is one of the best phones under 10000 Rs. but with few conditions!

Huawei, after recently launching the Honor 9i and the Honor 7X has launched yet another budget smartphone with an 18:9 display, called as the Honor 9 Lite. The first thing you will notice about the phone is its stunning design, it comes with 2.5D curved glass on both the front and the back, and the company has specially made the back very reflective to give it a mirror-like finish. The phone really looks very beautiful in both the Midnight Black and Sapphire Blue color variants which are launched in India.
The Honor 9 Lite, unlike the Honor 7X and the Honor 9i, sports a smaller 5.65 inches screen and due to the narrow bezel design, it fits in the size of a typical 5.2 inches phone and is lot more comfortable. It comes with FHD+ display having 18:9 aspect ratio and 428 ppi density, the display quality is very good with good colors and viewing angles. The Honor 9 Lite also runs on the 2.36 GHz Octa Core HiSilicon Kirin 659 processor coupled with Mali-T830 MP2 GPU, it handles normal day to day operations and multitasking well but lags a little with heavy games.
It comes in two variants of 3 GB RAM with 32 GB storage and 4 GB RAM with 64 GB storage, both of which are expandable up to 256 GB via microSD. The biggest highlight of the Honor 9 Lite is that it comes with four cameras, out of which two are on the back and two on the front. There is a 13 MP + 2 MP setup on both the front and back, where the 2 MP sensor is used for capturing additional details and bokeh effect. The camera app is very good and comes with lots of modes, filters and features including a portrait mode and full pro mode.
However in terms of picture quality, it is somewhere around average, it captures detailed images, good close up shots and good portrait shots with nice bokeh effects but the colors are little dull and saturation is little off the mark as well. The cameras are still not bad at all, but we get very good cameras in the Xiaomi Mi A1 and Moto G5s Plus. Another great thing about the Honor 9 Lite is, it comes pre-loaded with the latest Android 8.0 Oreo having EMUI 8.0 running on top.
The EMUI 8.0 is fast, feature rich and comes with lots of themes and customisation options. The dual sim phone comes with a hybrid slot. The fingerprint scanner on the back is fast and accurate. The phone is backed by a non-removable 3000 mAh Lithium-Polymer battery, it delivers decent battery backup for a day and supports Huawei’s fast charging. It weighs at just 149 grams and has a thickness of 7.6 mm.
