HMD Global launches Nokia 5 with 3 GB RAM at Rs. 13,499
- Launch offers include additional data from Jio, No cost EMI and more
- Initially, Nokia 5 will be Flipkart exclusive for 7 days
- It currently runs on Android Nougat 7.1.1 and will get Oreo update in future
Nokia re-entered the Indian market after a along gap with three new smartphones in June this year. Nokia initially launched three smartphones in the market namely Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6. Nokia 6 is Amazon exclusive in India where as Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 were sold through retail market. To recall, Nokia 5 with 2 GB RAM was finally available from august 2017 in retail markets. HMD Global on Monday announced a new variant of the Nokia 5 with 3 GB of RAM in India. The company also recently made headlines when it launched Nokia 2, cheapest smartphone from HMD Global. Nokia 2 will be available in India from mid-November, as informed by company.
Initially, Nokia 5 will be Flipkart exclusive in India. It has been priced at Rs.13,499 for the 3 GB RAM variant. The phone will be available for sale officially from November 7. Flipkart is bundling various offers under Jio – Nokia additional data, which promises extra 5 GB of data on recharge of Rs. 309 or above, limited to 10 recharges till 31st August 2018. Along with Jio – Nokia additional data offer, Flipkart is also providing exchange offers & No Cost EMI through various bank offers & Bajaj Finserv. After November 14, the phone will be available through selected retail outlets.
Nokia 5 has 3 GB of LPDDR3 RAM along with Snapdragon 430 64 bit processor. It sports a 5.2-inch polarised HD (1280 x 720) display that is protected by 2.5D sculpted Corning Gorilla Glass. On camera front, Nokia 5 sports a 13 MP rear camera with F2.0 aperture and comes with PDAF along with dual tone LED flash. The front camera is an 8 MP auto-focus shooter with 84 degree field-of-view. It runs on Android Nougat 7.1.1 out of the box with confirmed Oreo update in future. It comes with 16 GB internal storage which can be expanded upto 128 GB using a dedicated microSD card slot. However, It lacks fingerprint sensor.
Nokia 5 is loaded with connectivity options which include 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth v4.1, FM radio with RDS, GPS, 3.5 mm jack along with micro USB port to support USB OTG. It has proximity sensor, gyroscope, accelerometer, ambient light sensor and digital compass. Battery inside Nokia 5 is 3000 mAh, which is sealed.
It will be available in two colour options i.e Matte Black and Tempered Blue. The Nokia 5 With 2 GB RAM was also available in shades of Silver and Copper.
