Google to Unveil ‘Android M’ at I/O 2015 Conference
Android is a mobile operating system which has taken the user interface and system performance to an all time-high. Android is the OS that powers more than 1 Billion Smartphones and tablets at present. Since these devices make our lives so sweet, each Android version is named after a dessert. Starting from Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice-cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, Kitkat and Lollipop, now what next?
Here, we are talking about next, because next is coming this month. Google is all set to unveil its latest Android version at the I/O 2015 Developer conference which is to be held in this month on May 28 and May 29. Last year, we saw Android L popping out from Google’s basket at I/O 2014 conference. Although Google hasn’t officially announced and confirmed this directly, but a session description that briefly appeared as a part of the I/O schedule made specific mention of “Android M.” Interestingly the session has now been pulled off from the schedule of events on the Google I/O site.
The session Android For Work Update which mentioned Android M states the following – Android M is bringing the power of Android to all kinds of workplaces. This opens huge new markets for hundreds of millions of devices to workers at small business, deskless workers, logistics and warehousing jobs; all be empowered by adoption of Android devices at Work.

If going by pattern of Google, last year also Google revealed Android L at I/O 2014 conference which was later named as Lollipop. So, its likely that Google will unwrap some elements of this Android M as a developer preview. However, the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop is running on just 10% active devices, still Google seems to move ahead with its new version.
Other interesting sessions in the Google I/O conference are centered around Android TV, Android Wear, etc. Android is no more restricted with mobile OS or tablets, it is also being used in Gaming Consoles, Digital Cameras, Cars (Android Auto) and Wrist Watches (Android Wear).
Google will reveal Android M at I/O 2015 or not, that will be known soon. But, mobile enthusiasts will be eagerly waiting for the new Android M and so are we. Stay tuned with us to know more about Android M.
