Galaxy A8, Samsung’s Slimmest Phone with 16 & 5 MP Cameras launched at 32,500 Rs
The South Korean giant, Samsung has launched its slimmest phone till now – Galaxy A8 in India. After unveiling the phone last month in China, Samsung has launched the all metal body smartphone having thickness of only 5.9 mm at Rs 32,500 in India. It comes in Black, White, and Gold color variant.
On the specifications front, The Galaxy A8 flaunts a 5.7-inch full HD (1080×1920) resolution Super AMOLED display with pixel density at 386 ppi. Unlike in China variant where it has 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, In India it is powered by an Exynos 5430 octa-core processor (1.3GHz quad-core + 1.8GHz quad-core) with Adreno 405GPU paired with 2GB of RAM. It also offers 32GB internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card. It runs on TouchWiz UI based on Android Lollipop 5.1.1.
The Galaxy A8 sports a 16 megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash, f/1.9 aperture and optical image stabilization while on the front it sport a 5 megapixel camera with wide-angle lens.
The Dual sim phone supports 4G LTE (Cat.6) along with Wi-Fi (802.11 a / b / g / n 2.4 + 5GHz), Bluetooth v4.1, NFC, GPS, GLONASS. The smartphone squeezes a non removable 3050mAh battery which is larger than Galaxy S6. Despite being the slimmest phone, company has managed to pack the fingerprint sensor in the phone.
The Galaxy A8 measures 158×76.8×5.9mm and weighs 151 grams and will compete with other slim smartphones like 5.5mm thick Gionee Elife S7, 4.85mm Oppo R5 and 4.75mm Vivo X5 Max and the not to forget the Canvas Sliver 5.
