Freedom 251 to be shipped from 28th June, says Ringing Bells

Ringing Bells, the Indian company which launched the World’s cheapest smartphone, known as Freedom 251 a few months back for Rs. 251, now claims that it will start deliveries of the handset to customers from June 28.

The Freedom 251 was launched on February 17th and started the registrations for the smartphone from next day. However, soon the company withdrew the product and refunded the payments to customers following a close scrutiny by government agencies. The company later said that the product will now be delivered on COD (Cash-on-delivery) basis only.

As for the specifications, it features a 4-inch IPS 960 x 540 pixels resolution display and powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor and 1GB RAM. It bears an 8GB of internal storage which can be expandable up to 32GB via microSD. It sports a 3.2-megapixel rear Auto Focus camera and a 0.3-megapixel front facing camera. The handset runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and also offers 2G/3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS connectivity options. It is packed with a 1450mAh battery.
