Facebook Messenger gets end-to-end encryption with secret conversations
Facebook has introduced a new feature to its Messenger, known as Secret Conversations, which uses end-to-end encryption on some messages.
Facebook Messenger’s end-to-end encrypted messages can only be read by you and one device of the person that you’re talking to, even Facebook itself won’t be able to see what you’re talking about. To start a secret conversation, users will have to visit a person’s profile and then start an encrypted conversation from there. This feature will also let you set a timer to control how long the message you send remains visible in the conversation.
A few months ago, Facebook-owned WhatsApp has also introduced end-to-end encryption to its messenger.
