Amazon India stops offering refund on electronic gadgets; now only replacements
After announcing its end to refund policy on mobile phones earlier this year, Amazon India has extended the same policy to other electronic products including tablets, laptops, desktops, monitors, cameras and camera lenses.
“All tablets, laptops, desktops, monitors, cameras, and camera lenses that are fulfilled by Amazon and purchased on or after 11th May 2016 are eligible for a replacement only policy and will no longer be eligible for refunds. In case you have received a defective or a damaged product, you will be eligible for a free replacement.” says the company. Also, the replacement policy is also only applicable if the damaged product is returned within 10 days of delivery.
However, Amazon India did not clarify what will happen if the seller cannot provide replacements for electronic items fulfilled by Amazon. The company’s rival Flipkart also offers a similar policy and provides refunds only when the seller is unable to offer replacements.
