Facebook launches Snapchat Stories like ‘Messenger Day’ for its Messenger
After Instagram and WhatsApp, Facebook’s third app ‘Messenger’ also seems to walk on the trails of Snapchat. Facebook in its latest post announced the launch of Messenger Day feature in their Messenger App. This new feature will allow the users to post photos and videos in real time which will appear for a span of 24 hours just like the Snapchat story or WhatsApp Status features. Along with this, the Messenger Day feature will also provide you with a number of filters, overlays, frames and stickers.
The Messenger day also lets you have control on who can see your post. You can also choose specific family of friends who get to see your post which is very similar to that of Snapchat. With announcement of the launch, Facebook also explained in their post about how this feature works.
So let’s take a look on how things work with Messenger Day:
First of all you need to get an updated version of your Messenger App. Once this is done, open the App and tap on to the Camera icon which will directly drop you in to the full-screen camera. An alternate way of doing this is by tapping the “Add to your day” button at the top of your inbox. After you are in the camera take a quick selfie or a picture or video of whats around you, add an effect, filter, overlay or smiley to your photo or video and tap the next button in the bottom right corner, add it to ‘My Day’ and that’ it. There’s also an option of choosing people who can see your day which will appear for 24 hours.
