Twitter introduces 360-degree live video streaming on Periscope

Twitter has introduced 360-degree live video streaming on Periscope. Recently, Facebook also launched the live 360-degree video streaming, while YouTube has it from a long time now.

Twitter users will now be able to watch 360 degree live broadcast videos from its apps and website right from their Twitter stream. The Live 360-degree videos will be marked with a “LIVE 360” badge and users can change the angle of their view by either moving their phones or swiping their screens.

While all Twitter and Periscope users will be able to watch live 360-degree videos, not everyone will be able to broadcast them as of now. Currently, only select partners can go live in 360 via Periscope.

With 360 video on Periscope, you can experience moments with the broadcaster and take a look around — it’s one step closer to actually being there. Starting today, you’ll be able to join live 360 videos on Periscope and Twitter from some incredible broadcasters — getting front-row access at exclusive events, travelling to places across the globe, and getting up close with well-known personalities.

However, Twitter said that the feature will be rolled out more broadly during the coming weeks. Stay tuned for more updates!
