Motorola’s Moto Z Series to be launched in India on October 4
Lenovo owned Motorola unveiled two new smartphones – Moto Z and Moto Z Force at the Tech World 2016 event held in San Francisco, USA in June this year. Later, an another smartphone Moto Z Play was launched at IFA 2016. The launch of this Z series smartphones was awaited in India and Motorola India confirmed the launch on October 4th via their official Twitter handle.
However, it is not yet confirmed if all the three models will be launched or selected one’s from this Z Series. To recall, all the three smartphones, the Moto Z , Moto Z Force and Moto Z Play are compatible with Moto Mods accessories such as JBL SoundBoost, the Moto Insta-Share Projector and the Power Pack. They will also come with style shells and offer finishes like real wood, leather, and fabric.

As far as specifications are concerned, the Moto Z and Moto Z Force flaunt a 5.5-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) AMOLED display with pixel density of 535 ppi and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. Under the hood, they both have a 2.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, clubbed with Adreno 530 GPU and 4 GB LPDDR4 RAM. They will be offered in 32 GB / 64 GB storage variant, expandable up to 2 TB with microSD and run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
On the photography front, the Moto Z sports a 13-megapixel rear camera, whereas, the Moto Z Force houses a 21-megapixel rear camera. Both the smartphones bear a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and also include a fingerprint sensor. Both the Moto Z and Moto Z force have ditched the 3.5 mm jack, and now use USB-C port for headphones.
On the other hand, the Moto Z Play flaunts a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) Super AMOLED display with pixel density at 403 ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Under the hood, it has an Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 processor, clocked at 2 GHz, coupled with Adreno 506 GPU and 3 GB RAM. It will be offered in 32 GB / 64 GB internal storage variant, which is further expandable up to 2 TB with microSD. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
On the Photography front, the Moto Z Play sports a 16-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with wide-angle lens and LED flash. The smartphone includes a fingerprint sensor embedded into the physical home button.
