Reliance Jio is sixth largest telco in terms of data usage, expected to launch 4G services by September

Reliance Jio, which is stated to be the largest startup in the world, has proven that it is actually the greatest, as the company has climbed to the sixth position on data usage, even before its commercial launch.

As per the reports, the Reliance Jio is ranked sixth with 13 million GB data at an average of 19.2 GB per user is consumed by over 7 lakhs users who are testing the beta network, during the Q1 2016. Airtel ranked on first spot with 55 million subscribers using 45 PB data, while Vodafone had 47 million users consuming a total of 28 PB data.

It is also reported that Jio generated 1.8 PB data in Gujarat alone. The company is also looking to increase its subscriber base to 2.5 million subscribers before its commercial launch and generate 50 PB per month. The aim is to raise this figure to 100 million subscribers and 100 PB monthly data within a year of its commercial launch.

The Reliance was expected to launch its Jio services by December this year, however, the recent developments tells that it might get launched by September. If Jio does launch its 4G services at throw away prices so soon, then we are surely in for a treat. Last month, it was also reported that the company’s LYF brand for smartphones was among the top five brands, in terms of shipments for Q1 2016.
